Chestnut, Misugaru and Injeolmi Lattes: 6 Cafés in Koreatown and Buena Park

Nutty lattes made with chestnut, roasted grains or roasted soybean powder are familiar drinks at Korean cafés. If you are looking for one in LA or Orange County, it is quicker to start with the drink than with a café name. This guide groups six places from the Crumbside directory, three in Koreatown and three in Buena Park, by what they pour.

For each place we checked the official menu, the official online ordering menu, or an official Instagram post from this year. It is not a ranking and not a visit or tasting review.

If you want a chestnut latte

Monday to Sunday Cafe is on the third floor of The Source OC in Buena Park. The official Buena Park menu lists a Bam Latte (bam is Korean for chestnut) under its house-made lattes, made with whole milk only. Drinks in that section come with or without coffee. The same section also has an injeolmi latte and a sweet corn latte.

For dessert there are injeolmi toast and an injeolmi pancake, and injeolmi is one of the shaved ice flavors. The café also has locations in West Covina and Rancho Cucamonga, so check the address. Official Buena Park menu

Coffee & is on Knott Avenue. Its Buena Park online ordering menu (Clover), linked from the official site, lists a Chestnut Latte among the espresso and milk drinks. The official site also lists a new location in Cypress, so pick the right one when you order. Official site · Buena Park online menu

If you want a misugaru latte

Misugaru is a Korean powder of roasted mixed grains. Alchemist Coffee Project shows separate menus for its first Koreatown café (Vermont) and its second (Pearl). Both list a Misugaru Latte among the signature drinks: an iced oat milk latte with grains and black sesame, espresso and a cream top. The menu notes that it contains soybean, sesame and peanut. Smoking Tiger in Buena Park is on Beach Boulevard. Select the Buena Park store in the official online ordering and the non-coffee section lists the MSGR (Misugaru), a multigrain latte served slightly sweetened over your choice of milk, hot or iced. Official online ordering

3THYME Coffee & Herbs is on Harvard Boulevard in Koreatown. Its official menu lists both a Misu Latte and an Injeolmi Latte among the signature drinks, which are served iced only. The Misu Latte adds syrup, espresso and milk to a grain powder with barley and oats. The Injeolmi Latte uses a soybean powder blend with syrup, espresso and milk, finished with a cream top and cinnamon. Official menu

If you want an injeolmi latte or injeolmi bingsu

Injeolmi is a Korean rice cake coated in roasted soybean powder. Oakobing is a bingsu (Korean shaved ice) shop on 6th Street in Koreatown. Its official menu lists an Injeolmi Latte among the drinks, and an Injeolmi bingsu: milk shaved ice with mochi, injeolmi powder and sweet red beans, with a milk drizzle. Some drinks are only here for fall

Smoking Tiger posted a FALL 2026 (September 25) notice on its official site. In the Buena Park online ordering, the seasonal drinks section has three pear drinks.

• San Blanc: cold brew with pear syrup, topped with cinnamon pear cold foam. Iced only.
• Fizzy Bae: a sparkling lemonade with pear syrup, lemon juice and club soda. Caffeine-free.
• Pear Black Milk Tea: Assam milk tea topped with cinnamon pear cold foam.

The same store’s seasonal bread section has a pear pie and a pear danish. Smoking Tiger’s Instagram has announced new menu items for October 2, so check the ordering page to see whether the fall drinks are still on. Official site · Official online ordering

3THYME introduced a Pumpkin Cream Latte and a Pumpkin Chai Latte as fall drinks in an official Instagram post on September 23. The post says they are available for a limited time. Instagram post

Coffee & in Buena Park also has a separate seasonal section in its online menu, including a Pumpkin Spice Latte, a Maple Cinnamon Cold Brew Latte and an Apple Cinnamon Matcha.

We could not confirm a sweet potato latte

We did not find a sweet potato latte on the official menus or in this year’s official posts from the Koreatown and Buena Park cafés we checked. If you want sweet potato, Smoking Tiger’s Buena Park online ordering lists a Purple Sweet Potato Mochi, and the same mochi section has a Chestnut Mochi filled with chestnut purée. We will update this guide if we can confirm one on an official menu.

• All six places have locations in other areas too. Confirm the branch name and address for directions and orders.
• The three Buena Park cafés are on Beach Boulevard and Knott Avenue; the four Koreatown cafés are on Vermont Avenue, Hobart Boulevard, Harvard Boulevard and 6th Street. See them together on the Crumbside map.
